Wendy's Creole Food is the kind of place that does not look like much from the outside but turns out to be exactly what you were looking for. Located in Dangriga, it serves traditional Creole and Garifuna cooking at prices that make it a daily stop for locals. Everything is made from scratch and the portions are generous.

The menu is built around what is fresh and in season. Hudut, which is fish in coconut broth served with mashed plantain, is the dish to know. Stewed fish, rice and beans cooked in coconut milk, and sere are also regulars. It is honest, filling food with real flavour rooted in Garifuna tradition.

Vibe

No frills, no pretence. This is a local lunch spot that happens to serve some of the most authentic Garifuna food in the country. The room is simple, the service is direct, and the food is the point. It fills up fast and closes when the pots are empty.
